Homecoming 35 ! A Huge Success!
Just a quick note to thank everyone in our community and surrounding area for their hard
work this past year putting together one of the best events Englefeld has ever pulled off!
By all accounts, all events went off without a hitch, and many had great things to say
about our town and the entire weekend.
1189 attended supper Saturday night and once we have all the bills paid we will be able
to see how we did financially too. Over 700 attended breakfast on Sunday, and Lord
knows how many were in town Friday night to catch the Gregor Crew and fireworks.
To show our appreciation, the Rec Board will be hosting a Volunteers party for the whole
community at "Beer in the Bush" at the end of summer... maybe late August. We will
keep you posted but I know there will be music, food, beverages, slow-pitch and maybe
some other stuff too!
Far too many people to mention that helped out in some way, while others contributed
many more hours of their own personal time to help make this event a great success. We
have to remember that the more we can help out... whether its picking up a piece of
garbage, or organizing an event, it helps improve the quality of living in Englefeld.
That's very important to remember.
All this money will go back to various Englefeld organizations to help with their annual
expenses, keep the lights on in the rink and help make many much needed improvements
in our village. I can guarantee you that a nickel doesn't get wasted and all is greatly
appreciated.
Keep in mind, we still have a variety of mugs and shirts left over to sell at a discounted
price too....T-shirts, all sizes are available for $10 bucks until they're gone!
That's about all for now. Loraine and Deanna were very instrumental in making this
event as great as it was and if you cross their paths this summer, please pat them on the
back for doing an excellent job! They deserve it!
ps.-.They have lots of information to pass along to the next crew for the next
homecoming year, whenever that may be.
THANK-YOU AGAIN !
